Bugger the New Years kiss, we want another bite of the NYE catering!

If you’ve somehow found yourself planning the big NYE event for your friends, family or colleagues – you’ll need to make sure you have the very best catering spread to keep your guests happy and full. Regardless of whether you’re hosting it at home, at a big venue or at an exotic location, catering is crucial to the night’s order of events.

To get you started, we’ve pulled together the very best NYE catering ideas to give your catering the “wow” factor.

Savoury Bites

When it comes to choosing which savoury food to serve up to your guests on NYE, you want to make sure your savoury catering is easy to eat, delicious and can please a crowd! There’s nothing worse than being at a social event hungry and trying to awkwardly eat a taco, dried noodle salad or messy chicken wing! Don’t make these common mistakes.

If you’re unsure what your guests will enjoy, it’s best to keep it simple and classic. You can’t go wrong with party pies, sausage rolls, quiches, sandwiches and wraps. Not only are these foods easy to eat whilst standing and moving around the venue, they’re also scrumptious! Get creative with the fillings for the sandwiches and wraps to fit with your guest list.

Sweet treats

Once the savoury catering has been gobbled up by your guests, dessert will be on their mind!

Again, you want to make sure you offer a variety of bite sized options. At Pinjarra Bakery it’s no secret that we have sweet tooths… that’s why we’ve put extra attention into our dessert catering menu. Select from a huge range of dessert finger foods

New Years Eve Props

Want to have some fun with your catering? Try incorporating props and amusing toys into the presentation!

Ideas could be party poppers, party hats, boas, tiaras, hats, noisemakers, horns and anything else that you can think of that might be fun and/or fit into the theme of the evening. Tell guests to help themselves (to both the finger food and the fun props) to create an interactive experience.

When selecting the props, ensure to consider the audience attending your NYE event as well as the theme of the evening. If you want to keep it sophisticated and mature incorporate edible flowers or if you’re looking to add some whimsical creativity perhaps party hats and poppers will suit better.

For NYE, sparklers are a must! When the clock creeps up to midnight, people will be looking around for the sparklers. Make sure you’ve got plenty at the ready to give out to your guests.
