You might not realise this but there are many ways to eat a meat pie!

Read further to discover where you fit in the mix. Be warned, there are some crazies out there… including us! Check out our video on YouTube to see how it’s done.

Prim & Proper

Those who enjoy eating their pies ‘prim and proper’ embody class, sophistication and manners. You will find the P&Ps enjoying their pie over a plate, with their knife and fork at the ready and a napkin folded on their lap. P&P’s love their pies and have mastered how to eat the meaty pastry goodness with poise and cleanliness. Dabbing the corners of their mouth with a napkin when they’ve finished, we admire P&Ps for showing us how to eat like a civilised member of society.

You can often spot the P&Ps as soon as they walk in, with cautious excitement. This is the most common group to try our impressive gourmet range of pies and also the first ones to ask for extra napkins. They enjoy the moment and appreciate each bite of their Pinjarra Bakery pie.

Multitasker

You know who you are. You’ve got places to go and people to see – you haven’t got time to sit down and eat your pie like the P&Ps!

Instead, you grab your Pinjarra pie in a takeaway bag and begin munching down your pie of choice whilst walking, driving, waxing your surfboard or doing any task where you only need one hand. With one hand multitasking and the other feeding you your lunch, this is multitasking at its finest.

Be careful, multitasking is no easy feat! The last thing you want is to see that fresh meat filling fall onto your lap instead of in your mouth. It’s a dilemma all multitaskers face- don’t say we didn’t warn you.

The Crime Scene

It’s messy, meaty and manic. This process isn’t for the faint hearted. Here’s how it works…

  1. Cut the pie’s pastry top off, exposing the glorious mince filling.
  2. Put the pastry top to the side.
  3. Add your tomato sauce into the mince filling.
  4. Stir the tomato sauce through the mince filling.
  5. Grab your spoon (yes, you’re spoon)
  6. Use your spoon to scoop up and gobble down that delectable mince and tomato sauce filling.
  7. Ignore the gobsmacked expression of onlookers trying to work out what the heck you’re actually doing

To those who are new to this way of pie eating it might sound like something straight out of a horror movie- but we’re a pretty open minded bunch at PB and will give anything a crack! Indulging in that fresh and flavoursome filling minus the pastry…..well, you might be surprised at how much you enjoy the crime scene method. Just don’t tell anyone.

Just bloody eat it mate

Last but not least, we have the traditionalists who just bloody eat the pie. Order your pie, chuck on your tomato sauce and take a bite. Easy as that, mate!

Traditionalists love their pies. Often you can find traditionalists at the Pinjarra Bakery with their mates, soaking up the sun and enjoying our classic pie range. They enjoy keeping their pie order simple and classic, often not even looking at the menu when they place their order. They know what they want – one classic meat pie with a single sachet of tomato sauce. Eaten straight out of the Pinjarra Bakery pie bag whilst sitting on the back of their ute- they’re an easy bunch to please.
